Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, yummy things, and my lifestyle choices. Hope you enjoy!

Houston Margarita Festival

Hello fellow marg enthusiasts, thank you for stopping by my blog! I attended the 8th annual Houston Margarita Festival on November 23rd and let me tell you all the reasons you’ll want to go next year!

Number one reason being margaritas! They had so many different flavors, frozen and on the rocks, to choose from. I tried a variety from watermelon to the craziest being a chocolate margarita. If you enjoy tootsie rolls go for the chocolate!

It is held at Water Works Park in Buffalo Bayou. There is live entertainment, food vendors, and shopping. There are even a few opportunities to win cash in dance competitions.

The General Admission ticket includes entry into the event and one free margarita. Then there are drink tickets available to try more. There is also a margarita competition that local vendors can enter into and we the attendees get to judge! However, you still have to use drink tickets to participate— but well worth the awesome tequila!

This was such a fun experience I definitely plan to attend again in the future. It is a great place to go with your friends, have a fun date with your significant other, or get a little marg happy with your family (over 21 only allowed in festival).

Some things I wish I had thought about before attending:

  1. Parking is scarce by the park so research ahead of time and don’t go too late to the festival.

  2. Bring folding chairs to sit on; there are only a few tables throughout.

  3. Bring cash, there are ATM’s but most of the food and all the drinks required cash.

  4. It is all outdoors so prepare for whatever the weather may bring!
