Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, yummy things, and my lifestyle choices. Hope you enjoy!

Fort Worth It!

If you’re looking for a great weekend getaway with the girls, Fort Worth is a really fun option! It is just a few hours from Houston and has a lot of fun things to offer. Here is a list of some of the places we went!

  1. Fort Worth Stock Yards

Our first night in we went to the Stockyard which is a great area filled with a bunch of restaurants and bars! We had dinner at Cattleman’s Steakhouse (definitely make a reservation in advance!) then went Billy Bob’s which is a huge dance hall and concert venue that has tons of shows throughout the year. We went in late January before the Texas mask mandate was lifted and it was still pretty packed; so if you are wanting something more low key there are plenty of small bars around the Stockyard. If you are interested in Billy Bob’s is has a lot to offer, tons of bars throughout, dance floors, tables to watch concerts, games, pool tables, and tons of great photo opportunities! Check out tickets ahead of time, there is general admission as well as specific concert tickets!

  2. Breweries & Beyond

There are so many great breweries and bars in Fort Worth we hardly scratched the surface. The first one we tried was Cowtown Brewing, they have a great relaxing vibe with good beers and a food truck to order from! Then we headed over to Main Street where there are a ton of different places to walk to. We went to HopFusion Ale Works and my favorite beer there was the Orange Blossom Special- I’m a huge fan of wheat beers so I highly recommend it! They have huge picnic tables indoor and outdoor to enjoy your time there. The final brewery we went to was Funky Picnic Brewery and they have some really great beer and food! As a group we ordered a flight of beers where you can try one of every beer on the menu totaling 14!

If you’re not as interested in beer there are plenty of bar options! We stopped at Rancho Loma Vineyards and shared some bottles of champagne and wine. It’s tucked away in an alley off Main Street and I felt like I was at a little wine bar in Europe. One unique spot you won’t want to miss is The Amber Room, which is a speakeasy! They have an incredible cocktail menu and very eclectic decor! I ordered the Lavender Nuptials and it was delicious. Our final bar stop was The Bearded Lady which is a restaurant with great local beers and cocktails. The food was amazing, I’d definitely recommend you stop by!

  3. BRUNCH!

Brunch is a staple in any good girls trip! So naturally we had it both days we were there. We went to Hot Box Biscuit Club and let me tell you their biscuits are to die for! You can get them sweet with butter and jam or all kinds of savory! I ordered The People’s Champ and it was perfection. I want to go back and try more of their menu! Our second day brunch stop was Fixture Kitchen & Social Lounge and the entire menu looked amazing! A favorite of mine was the Truffle Mac N Cheese!

  4. Murals

This is a small tidbit but there are so many fun spots to take some great Instagram worthy photos! Most of the ones we found were located around Main Street! Thanks for reading!
