Color Me Impressed

Houston has an interactive art instillation called the Color Factory! The Color Factory also exists in NYC but each factory is specific to its region and works with different artists to create unique experiences. It is a family friendly event that offers something for everyone. It is a VERY Instagramable experience and you will want to take hundreds of photos in every fun space!

From the moment we walked in there were amazing installations, fun activities, and sweet treats throughout. My fiancé and I went for a day date and we had the best time going through each room experiencing the different sensory elements and eating the yummy treats, it truly brought out the inner kids in us! We started off getting a macaroon and signing up to have our photos emailed to us— you can use your phone or camera, but the factory also has cameras set up in specific spots throughout the different rooms so you can capture pictures that aren’t selfies or asking someone to take it for you. It didn’t take long at all for me to receive the photos via email from their stationed cameras.

There is no rush per room, you can take as long as you want and as many pictures as you want. Their is a room filled with confetti to make snow angels, a room with fun smells like movie theater popcorn and fresh rain, a room to get creative and draw, a fun ball pit that looks like you’re in outer space, and more!

Overall we enjoyed each room, but I would have to say my favorite part was the confetti room! We had way to much fun throwing confetti at each other “for the gram!” I even found confetti in my shoes later that night. There is plenty of space throughout each room, we never felt crowded or rushed to capture our pics. While you may have to wait your turn for the ultimate picture spots, it never takes too long because everyone is there for the same fun experience and knows we all want that Instagram photo.

Besides taking tons of pictures we had so much fun coloring, playing in the ball pit, and getting to experience the unique installations. I would highly recommend the Color Factory for your next family outing or date night! At the very end of the exhibit you get to have charcoal ice cream (very delicious!) and pick out a small keepsake! I chose a pin and my partner, Brice, chose a magnet. There is also a gift shop right before you exit and they have all sorts of fun activities and memorabilia to cherish your experience! I would love to experience the one in NYC next!
